Islander 36 Blueprint Files

List of Drawings & 1978 Owner's Manual

In 2007 a CD was compiled by scanning a set of blueprints owned by Don Schumacher (Blue Streak) who had them scanned into .TIF files. For those interested in construction details, these make an interesting read. They seem to reflect a range of I-36 designs - for example things like the anchor locker and split backstay are not found on early Islanders. Engine & exhaust configurations also changed during the years. There is even a "Freeport" chainplate design that should have been used on the I-36 aft lowers!!

The original prints varied in quality from very clear to poor, and the resulting files mirror this condition. The largest files, the 01. and 02. series, are 10816 x 7507 - very high resolution, which means they look small when viewed as a full page. Detail becomes readable as you zoom in on a given area, but this can be slow due to the large file size.

There is a companion Word file called CD Contents which you can print to use as your "Table of Contents" when opening files.

Plus there is also a file with the scanned images of the pages of a 1978 Owner's Manual.

The "CD" is available free to current members who would like one, and will be sent to New Members as they join. Current members can request their copy on this Blueprints Order From. In about 2018 we stopped sending the physical "CD" and just send a link to a dropbox with the digital files. (The original CD was first available for delivery or mailing by the Spring Meeting 2007.) Non-members may purchase a copy for $20 - the cost of a whole year's Non-Resident Membership!!!
